En Masse x American Dream present

Big Snow Community Mural

The EN MASSE Project is teaming up with American Dream to create one of the largest and most unique artworks in the country — a 61,000 square foot, community-driven mural covering the Big Snow ski hill and snowboard park in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

About the Mural

This massive mural will be painted for, about, and by the community of East Rutherford, New Jersey, and its surrounding regions. It is designed to explore our relationship to American dreams, in very personal and participatory ways.  This creative process will invite both artists and the community alike, to consider how we want to describe ourselves in complex relationship to the national ethos. It is a powerful process that will be amplified through multiple artist-led workshops, delivered throughout the region, working to paint a better vision of the future.

Fall/Winter 2020

Community Workshops

From each workshop will emerge a black and white, multi-‘artist’ collaborative drawing.  From each of these documents, we will pull images that will be ultimately woven into the permanent fabric of the mural itself, soon to be painted on the walls at American Dream.

Use your voice. Tell us about Your dream. Get in touch, share, and help us bring your community to this project.

This mural is far more than a big, bold, black-and-white wallpaper. it’s about building strong relationships, through a process that strives to bring people together. This is about creating meaningful opportunities to share, learn, teach, and work within the community, in order to test and reshape the health of our collective envisioning of the American Dream.
